I’ll admit (just to you), I was a little edgy waiting to hear if I was among those selected for this brilliant collection of expat stories. When Lisa Webb (no relation, just another fab Webb woman 😉 ) from Canadian Expat Mom approached me to submit a story, I was a little bit chuffed and immediately started thinking about which mad and momentous story I could write about!
Being in the very early stages of researching for my own book on life in China, I knew it would be a good move to get something up in the literary world. So, head down, bum up, I got busy and poured my soul into my little entry piece. Being the typical perfectionist that I am, I went over it and over it, and over it again! Just to be sure. I polished and primped that darn thing until I couldn’t look at it any longer! Then with my eyes closed, I pressed SEND.Â
So when I unexpectedly opened my email inbox the other day and saw the heading “You’re In” …..I was doing one big happy dance right around the house (much to my amused Small Person, who was in the bath at the time, her eyes boggled wide at crazy mummy)!
So, yep, you get the gist. I’m pretty thrilled that my story was selected along with many great contributors for the anthology Once Upon an Expat! (Cue: fist pumps all ’round!)Â
These are the stories that are guaranteed to take you on a trip around the world through the pages of a collaborative book.  All of the authors are sharing their most outrageous stories, challenging experiences, and moments you can only find yourself in when you do something as wild as living your life in a foreign country!Â
My piece is all about finding that ‘new’ normal in mad China. Can’t wait for you to read it!
Keep an eye on Canadian Expat Mom to meet all of the authors in March, and find out updates on the release date of Once Upon An Expat.
Cheers,
Nicole (I am author, hear me roar…..) 🙄Â
